Klövern’s urban development in Söderstaden

One of Stockholm’s most exciting industrial areas is being transformed into a dynamic, flexible and vibrantly diverse city environment. The small-scale Slakthus area is being developed together with the large-scale events area into a vibrant and varied internationally attractive destination with a rich content.

Söderstaden’s vision is to have developed a diverse and vibrant city environment by 2035, offering enterprises, residents and visitors a dynamic mixture of world-class experiences as well as recreation and closeness to nature. A major hub of workplaces is developing here together with housing, culture, events and the retail outlets of the future. The city neighbourhood will link up Södermalm, Hammarby Sjöstad and Årsta/Liljeholmen.

Söderstaden

Arenagången is being developed into an attractive space for meetings and activities.

Söderstaden

All areas in Söderstaden will undergo exciting major changes. At the Slakthus area’s new metro entrance, Klövern is building housing and workplaces. As part of the development of Söderstaden, Klövern is working together with the other real estate owners at the Slakthus area and the City of Stockholm. Based on the Slakthus area’s unique history and taking care of its cultural heritage, the Slakthus area is being developed into a dynamic, flexible and vibrantly diverse city environment with its cutting edge in gastronmy and culture. There will be a rich offering of housing, workspaces and culture together with parks and squares offering a bustling street life.

The small scale of the Slakthus area with its strong industrial heritage makes an exciting contrast to the adjacent large-scale events area with the city’s four arenas, Klövern’s shopping hub and strong workplace clusters as well as the future construction of housing and workplaces at the Söderstadion/Hovet site.

Klövern’s development is based on the vision of Söderstaden as an integrated, vibrant, accessible internationally attractive city neighbourhood. In accordance with this, we are making the events area into an attractive place to be with urban qualities and a large number of workplaces. In Globen Shopping, Klövern is creating the meeting places and retail space of the future, which entails a conversion from an introverted gallery to an extroverted city street linking together the events area and the Slakthus area.
